Whoaaaa. It doesn't get any better than this. Eagles spank the NY Giants 31-17 for opening day win.

The wait was over at 4:15. Ever since T.O. arrived in Philly, we have been waiting. Waiting for the McNabb to T.O. connection. How good would they be together? Pre-season was just a tease. Well, we found out how special this connection is going to be on the second Eagles possesion. After the Giants surprised the Eagles by taking a 7 -0 lead early in the first quarter, McNabb lead the team down field and ended the drive with the connection we have been waiting for. The first TO touchdown. A thing of beauty. Then we were treated to the TO body builder pose. Awesome. But wait, there was more to come. Two more TD's in the game for TO who finished with 8 catches and 68 yards and 3 TDs. How special was this. Well last year the 2 wide receivers each had 2 TD's each for the entire year. TO tied that in the first quarter.

McNabb also had a huge game. Looking the best that we have ever seen him. He finished the game 26-36 for 330 yards and 4 TDs. His second TD pass to TO is a play for the highlight reel. Being forced out of bounds by Michael Strahan, he delivered a pinpoint pass to TO in the endzone.

Other game highlights to remember and enjoy...

Brian Westbrook had his first 100 yd game of his career. This guy is a special runner. Everybody complains that he is small , can he carry the load, will he get hurt? He is actually bigger the one of the best runners to ever play the game, Barry Sanders. No, he is not Barry, but we need to wait to see just how good he is going to be.

Trotter knocking Jeff Feagles into tomorrow with a hit on a punt return. And Trotter's play on special teams.

Michael Lewis all over the field on defense.

Hugh Douglas getting his first sack of the year and hearing hhhhhhhuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhhh again by the fans.

The nice catch by LJ Smith in the endzone for a TD.

And last but not least a special welcome to the NFL to Eli Manning from Jerome McDougle. Eli was seen asking if they got the name of the truck that hit him at the end of the game. Did you enjoy that hit as much as I did. I'll bet you did.

The defense gave up some yards but that doesn't worry me. I have faith in Jimmie Johnson. It will be fine.

On a downer note, promising Right Guard and first round pick Shawn Andrews broke his leg and will be out the season. Tough break for the young guy. It is the same injury that kept Derrick Burgess out for a year.

It has been a long time since the last Eagles win. I forgot the euphoria I always feel when the Eagles win. With the McNabb to TO connection in town, I think we will get to have this feeling a lot this season.

Finally, the season is about to start this Sunday against the New York stinking Giants. After 4 ho-hum meaningless games, we Philadelphia fans, are ready for the real stuff. No more playing rookies , no more vanilla offense. No---just hard nosed Eagles football is back.

Finally, the team we love so much, will begin the season against a team we hate. Granted , we don't hate the Giants nearly as much as we hate the Cowboys but we hate them. And we'll have some new faces to hate along with some old favorites.

Along with our hate for Shockey, Amani Toomer, Michael Strahan and Ike Hillard , we can add Kurt Warner and Eli Manning.

I think the Giants have a weak team and will struggle under new head coach Coughlin for a couple of seasons. The Eagles should win this one easily and cover the spread. I look for the birds to win 30-13.

..........other news .....Andy Reid gets 4 more years tacked on to his existing contract. He's locked up until 2010. Good move on Lurie and Banner's part. You just can't argue with the success he has had here. Plus it provides stabilty to the organization.
