Latest Update. Jake Long signs with Miami. Who goes next? Check out the ripple effect below.
New! Don't forget to click the " NFL On the Clock" videos!
Long is strong and has a huge frame at 6'7" and 315 lbs. An excellent pass blocker who can protect the QB's blind side. Strong Combine. Tied with most bench press reps at 37.
Dorsey is one of the best defensive lineman in this year's draft. He is a superb run-stopper. Add in his speed and you have one sure fire NFL impact player.
Vernon has what it takes to be a top notch DE in the NFL. Physical player with speed to go with it. Strong Combine. Tied with most bench press reps at 37.
Outstanding athletic talent. Showed what he is cabable of at the Combine, elevating himself to elite CB status. Speed and ball hawking ability will make him a highly sought after.
An elite OT. Could very well move up he charts. Dave Wannstedt called him the "best blocker I've ever coached". High praise from an ex NFL coach.
The Eagles have a number of needs to fill. Defensive end, Safety, Corner Back, tight end, Offensive tackle, Wide Receiver and Punt returner.
That's a lot of needs to fill. They have a lot of cap money to work with so who they pick up will impact who they take here.
I would like them to move up by packaging one of their extra picks or Lito Sheppard with this pick and move up. Moving up to get CB McKelvin would be a perfect move. AND he would play immediately as the punt returner and the nickel corner.
I'd like them to get maybe Safety Kenny Phillips. His stock has fallen lately so he will be available here. He is still the top Safety in the draft, in a year that is lean on Safeties. Another position I'd like them to get is a RB. Only Felix Jones will be left here. Look for the Cowboys to get Felix. The Eagles could move up 5 spots or so and get one of the top 2 RBs.
A lot of mock drafts have the Eagles taking a WR but fans in the city know that won't happen. WRs in this system take too long to develop and the birds are still gun shy from the last 1st round WR flop, Freddie Mitchell.
But before all that, Andy Reid needs to admit the Eagles need a WR. something he refuses to do despite Donovan plea for help. Seems as though the entire city wants a number 1 receiver but Reid is content with average receivers. WR DeSean Jackson would be an interesting player because he is a punt returner too but don't count on it. Sweed would be better but there are some experts that say there are no WRs worth a first rounder this year.
At 6' 4" 215 lb, he is a nice size WR. One of the top WRs in the country before hurting a wrist. Still a quality player to have with a great pair of hands.
Jackson had the best 40 yd dash time of 4.35 at the Combine. Has the potential to take it to the house everytime. Will have an immediate impact as a return guy.
The big receiver can at a lot to an offense. He is a 6'4" guy who will be a tough to cover. Ranks second on the the Sooners all time record list for receiving with 2,285 yardage and 21 TDs. Not bad #'s for a running team.
