"If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write things worth reading or do things worth the writing". Ben Franklin
Welcome to Foolish Citizen's Almanac!
My hero was Ben Franklin. He was a liberal rebel. If alive today, he would be debating everything. In the tradition of Ben, I will debate , debate , debate. My philosophy can be summed up in 3 words..."I'm against it". Relax, listen to this Groucho Marx clip and you will see where I'm going with this page. I'll mix in humor with the debate.
I'm against insurance companies, big oil companies, credit card companies, stock market, HMOs, CEOs, drug companies, lawyers, political BS... well you get the picture.
Shame on you John McCain 8-14-08
I didn't want to start with politics but I guess I have to. I just recently saw a McCain ad that was nothing more than revolting. First let me say that I wasn't voting for him to begin with but what I saw was appalling. He actually has an ad that portrays Barack as some kind of messiah. It says "In 2008, the world will be blessed. They will call him , The One". As if that wasn't enough, the ad goes on to show Charleton Heston as Moses parting the Red sea.
Also circulating were emails accusing Barack as being the anti-christ. Was McCain trying to ride the fear coat tails. Is he that desperate to win. When asked about the ad, he said he was just having fun. Fun? Did he say Fun? Yes he did. Man he is just a fun guy. Showing Barack as an anointed one is horrible. Maybe McCain's idea of fun is different than mine. Focus on the issues, John. Shame on you, McCain. Shame on you.
