The Philadelphia Eagles...the best team in the NFL

Game 11...........Nov 24th

6 in row! Eagles defeat the Saints Jules Pilla 11-24-03

From the opening play of the game, the Eagle started the game like they meant business. Donovan faked a handoff to Westbrook and threw a deep pass to Todd Pinkton. Pinky made an acrobatic catch for a 48 yard gain. There was no looking back after that. Even though they had to settle for a field goal and a 3-0 lead on that first series, you knew we were the better team.

Today the team relied on the offense for today's win. The defense has a little film to watch and work to do this week. The offense was led by no other than Donovan. He had another big game throwing 16 for 25 for 259 yards and one TD. And he had 55 yards rushing. No picks. I think it is safe to say that Donovan is back to being himself. Even the doubters should even agree.

Duce, Correll, Brian and Ritchie had a huge game. The Four Horsemen combined for 3 touchdowns and combined for 147 yards. A terrific day. Duce had 8 carries for 77 yards. Westbrook had 9 carries for 52 yards and a rushing TD. Buckhalter had 7 carries for 18 yards and a TD. And last but not least , John Ritchie had one receiving TD and was lead blocker for all the other guys.

And let's not forget the best kicker in the NFL, David Akers. All he did was go 3-3 on field goals. We have grown so used to him making everything that we take him for granted. It's not as easy as he makes it look.

The most important stat of all is no turnovers for the Eagles. While the Saints had 3 fumbles. Making the Eagles plus 3. In the NFL, whenever a team is plus 3 in giveaway / takeaways, they win 96% of the time.

On the Saints side, Duece McAllister ran all over the Eagles defense. He carried the ball 19 times for 184 yards and 2 TD's. Jim Johnson didn't have the answer for the Saints running attack today. Or maybe the answer was sitting on the bench injured. I can't imagine the Saints being that successful had Dawkins been in there.

Next up the Carolina Panthers.
