The four game losing streak ends. The Eagles beat the Packers 19-14. I must not be drinking enough Beer. I was watching the TV screen and saw the fans really into the game and I was sitting there lifeless. No emotion. What happened to me? I got excited a couple times but nothing like games of old. And when Hood made the game ending interception, I had nothing. The team we were playing was 2-8 and we still struggled. We are just not good now. And when Aikman and Buck were talking about playoff scenarios, well I just about lost my mind. Last year's run went in February. This year it was done before Thanksgiving. I think it has to do with the team identity. We indentified with McNabb, with Terrell Owens, Koy Detmer. But now the team is being led by McMahon and we just don't indentify with him. And he doesn't seem to be any better than Detmer. The game itself was a boring exhibition. The announcers were wishing they had the Seattle-Giants game. Instead, the 2-8 Packers against a banged up Eagles team. And it wasn't a pretty site. But, it was our first win in a month, right? We can get to the playoffs, can't we? NO WAY. It won't and can't happen. But the worse part about I don't even care. That's what bothers me. I'm just so numb to the team. Some hightlights of the game... It was good to see Akers back. He kicked 4 field goals in the game. The young offensive line played decent. Hood and Lewis each had interceptions. Westbrook had a nice game with 117 yds on 21 carries and scored a TD. Moats had a nice play forcing a fumble then recovering it on a punt late in the game. Well, it's a big game next week against the Seahawks. I have to do something different next week. This 6 pack just didn't help me get excited enough to care. Maybe I should get a half a keg of beer for the game. Maybe a little face paint will help too. Good morning my loyal subjects. Due to a prior commitment, I didn't arrive at my customary destination --- to the left of MW Quinlan --- until approximately 5:00PM. Before we get to yesterday's festivities… Anyone who knows me knows I am a big holiday kinda guy. Love the holidays. Hell I exude warmth and the spirit of the holidays. Okay, maybe I'm not quite decking the halls ALL the time but I very much enjoy this time of year. But I am constantly amazed at the sheer lunacy and non-holiday spirit that many of my fellow homo-sapiens consistently display at this otherwise joyous time of the year. For Exhibit A I give you the soldier-of-fortune-esque mob I encountered at the JC Penney store in Franklin Mills Mall. I awoke bright and early at 5:45AM to make... Full Story Here
