I think I need one of those tongue scrapers. This bad taste in my mouth just won't go away, no matter what I do.

After watching the circus that preceded the game and the actual game, it is hard to figure out if it was a good old fashioned hard fought NFC rivalry game or the Eagles losing to a bad team. The birds looked better than last week. Donovan didn't look injured and was throwing ok for the most part. The defense played better. But we still lost to an average team at best. So what the #@?%& is going on? I don't know but it is not fun anymore.

I know the Terrell Owens thing wasn't a distraction. Bull#$%@. It has been a distraction and it is a distraction. Make no mistake about it. I try not to write about this 32 yr old man who is more self centered than anyone I have ever seen in my life. As I said on my Aug 15th article, the Eagles should launch TO as far away from themselves as possible. Sit him without pay for 4 weeks , then put him on IR and pay him the rest of the season on the condition that he says nothing. " My ankle is hurt", fighting with Hugh Douglas, offering to fight Donovan and anyone on the team , with Favre we would be 7-0, it was taken out of content, the press conference with the bad apology and on and on, ad naseum. Now Andy Reid is going to talk to Banner about the next step with TO. Hey Andy, the Cowboys are up next, don't you think you ought to be focused on them? Stop it Andy. END IT TODAY! Hold a press conference and tell us he is suspended 4 weeks. Don't bring him back. EVER.

The team will eventually be fine. Once Donovan gets healthy. Next year. That's right #5 is not himself and don't expect the Donovan of old this year. He is not throwing good, making the right decisions etc. In fact , he already has 8 interceptions. The same amount he threw in the ENTIRE season last year.

Some highlights ...

Rookie Reggie Brown caught a 56 yd TD. His first of his career.

Kearse looked better. He had a half sack. The D-line needs help. ND Kalu is a part time pass rusher, not a starter. Where is McDougle?

Brian Westbrook got his contract renewed. Everyone is glad that is over. Now the Eagles need to get him one more thing. A FULLBACK. He needs a lead blocker in the worse way. Sorry Josh Parry is not Jon Ritchie. Ever since Ritchie went down 2 yrs ago, Westbrook and the Eagles running game has suffered. They a quality fullback next year.

Trent Cole forced a fumble on Brunell.

Akers got to kick and make a field goal.

McMullen had a decent 36 yd catch in a double coverage.

Question of the day... Why was Westbrook on the bench on the last play of the game when we are trying to tie the score with a minute to go in the game?

I think I'm going to try that new mouthwash I bought. The minty tasting one. Something has to get this bad taste out of my mouth. A step in the right direction would be telling me that Terrell Owens played his last game in green.
